Personality
Fierce - Protective of her loved ones - Passionate - Sarcastic - Bold - Non-combating
Jaqueline is a fighter, despite her oath of noncombat. She has suffered a great deal of neglect and abuse in her life, and worked in an industry where you always have to be at the top of the game. Her French origins have given her an exotic quality in both appearance and nature, and some would say her to be a flirt and seductress of nature. She can be very brazen and isn’t ashamed to use her body to get her what she wants. Jackie is a proud and fiery woman, someone who dislikes being belittled or controlled. After her siring, Jackie vowed to herself to never again be a victim of abuse or controlled by others.
Jackie can be very sarcastic, untrusting and even cold. For those who do not know her, she might come off as a stuck up, snobbish b***h, though others know better, know the tenderness and fondness she is capable of. But if you are her friend or she is fond of you, she will stick up for you with everything she’s got. Underneath the proud and strong-willed woman, there is a warmer side to her, and a wild heart capable of love and passion. While she is not easily offended and doesn’t have a temper to be fearful of, one should be careful not to cross her, especially if someone hurts those dear to her. Jaqueline has never been one to need or want attention drawn to her, and she has never been good at accepting help or comfort from others, preferring to fight her own battles and deal with her problems alone.
Mortal Life
Jaqueline was the first born and only child to her parents. Her father Adam Connor was an American officer working for the US Army, who had fallen in love and wed the young French entertainer Francine Moreau during the time he was stationed in France. The once happy couple moved to the States where their daughter was born, naming her Jaqueline Stefanie Francine Connor-Moreau. Adam doted on his little girl, while her mother made sure she grew up like any little girl would have done in France, learning two languages from the moment she uttered her first words, and attended ballet lessons as soon as she was running around. But married bliss did not last long, Jackie’s parents starting to fight and her father’s outburst grew more violent, occasional slaps turning into a constant abuse and molesting.
When Jaqueline was seven years old, her mother packed her bags and moved back to France and filed for a divorce from the other side of the Atlantic. Her parents agreed on a joint custody, Jaqueline attending school in the States, living with her father, and spending her holidays with her mother in France. But as the years passed, Jackie’s visits grew shorter and fewer, since they did not fit with her mother’s schedule and life, Francine concentrating on her career and numerous affairs, before her obligations as a mother to her only child. By the time Jackie was twelve, there were no longer trips to see her mother, only the occasional, brief call or random postcard. Apparently, her mother re-wed more than once, and that Jackie has two younger half-siblings she has never met or spoken to. Jaqueline has not heard a word from her mother, since she was fourteen.
After her father retired from the US Army, bitter that he didn’t make as high ranks as he had strived for, he developed an alcoholic habit. His methods of raising his daughter became more strict and harsh. It didn’t help the fact that his lovely little girl grew up into a young woman with a striking resemblance to her mother, the woman who had broken his heart. In time, Jaqueline tasted the backhanding and fist of her father much like her mother had. It was not like Jaqueline enjoyed the visual resemblance to her mother herself either. Bleaching and straightening her hair helped her differ from her mother’s ghost, becoming a look that stuck, and if anything, it emphasized her mixed breed, catching the eyes and attention of photographers in the local area because of her exotic look. She took the worst beating and spat curses, after her father saw the shots a photographer had taken of a half-nude Jackie for a local advertisement campaign.
When she got her letter of acceptance into the Academy of Arts, it was her ticket to take the first steps out of a personal hell. She moved to live on the campus, her father paying for her education, sending her letters and calling her, sometimes begging her to come visit back home, other times threatening to come pull her out of school. Her life as a student did not last past her sophomore year. She craved independence, waiting tables and bars late into the night to scratch up a small living. After a few months of missing classes because of late night shifts, she one day returned to class. But not to sit among the other students and sketch, but undressing and standing in the nude for them to sketch. After realizing she made a better living posing for pay, than paying to sketch people posing, and a visit of her scandalized father at the campus, she quit the Academy of Arts and moved away; leaving behind academics and cutting off any contact she had with her father.
With hard work, taking up the odd jobs on the side of modeling and acting in small local independent productions, she was able to earn her own living. One of those odd jobs was assisting in a Tattoo and Piercing shop, run by a drop out senior she had met at the Academy of Arts, and through him learning the trade well enough for work for him.
At the age of 22, Jaqueline met Ian Moore, the man producing and doing the PR for the event she’d been hired to model the new autumn line in. What followed were romantic dates, the young charmer sweeping Jackie off of her feet unlike any boyfriend had done before him. After months of intense dating, the couple moved together and Ian started managing Jackie’s career as a professional model. But his way of helping her career required sacrifices on Jaqueline’s part. She found herself coaxed into 'sealing the deal' by visiting the hotel suits of a contractor or businessman, and after a few times, was not naïve enough to believe Ian, when he told her 'this was the last time' he’d persuade her into doing such things. In time, the pleas for her to help her lover out, either to settle a debt or seal a deal with sexual favors, became orders to do as commanded. Of course, many times, she refused. That was when the once blissful and happy relationship started fading, and at some point, there was no more love between them. Ian Moore showed his true colors, the traits behind his success. He was manipulative, controlling and abusive. He was not above threatening to destroy any chances Jaqueline had in the business, if she decided to leave him.
There was an incident, where Jaqueline came home to the apartment they shared after a promotional party, only to find Ian in bed with another woman. It resulted in a fight, the betrayed Jackie beyond furious with her cheating lover. Ian hit her and she walked out on him, driving while still intoxicated, only to be picked up by the police and driven to the downtown police station. Ian came to pick her up, paying her for bail and smoothing out the ordeal with a friend of his on the force. As he drove her home, he reminded her of the many friends he had, that he could make all her worries go away, or bring them back.
Jaqueline was a prisoner in her relationship with Ian, but also saw an opportunity, deciding to play the game and use the deals and relations her 'hard work' earned Ian, to her own advantage. She tolerated his numerous affairs, and a few times, had the occasional fling of her own. Sometimes she was caught, other times Ian merely suspected her for cheating on him with someone that was no gain to him, or that she was planning on leaving him. To remind her of her place, he would go as far as raping her and causing her as much pain as he could until she admitted that she was the one ruining their relationship and not him. For years, he exploited her, used and abused her. To this day, she carries the mark of his possessiveness carved into her flesh. As punishment for her affairs and attempts to walk out on him, he took a knife or a pair of scissors, and cut her inner thigh and reopening the scarred cuts. To hide them, Jaqueline called in a favor from her old friend, the tattoo artist she had once worked for. With ink, he covered the scars from plain sight - four scars, four lines - with a motto that gave Jaqueline strength to move on.
It was one night, when Ian suggested they should consider getting married to gain some publicity for an upcoming event, that Jaqueline sat down and felt the four years having robbed her of her youth and love for life. While Ian was away, most likely enjoying his newest mistress in some hotel, Jaqueline packed one bag and walked out the door. After four years of fear, abuse and exploitation, Jackie left without looking back. Without destination, she found herself in RavenBlack city. It was supposed to just be a stop for a few nights, while she’d figure out where to go to start from the beginning. But she had underestimated Ian.
Ian found her and barged into the hotel suit she was staying in, carrying a gun, telling her to return with him, and threatening to kill her if she ever tried to leave him again. But Jaqueline had come too far, her mind set on never returning to the personal hell Ian had created. In a heated fight, the gun was fired three times. With blood on her hands and holding a fired gun, Jackie walked out, leaving Ian’s dead body in the hotel suit with no guilt over her deed. She ended up in a desolated part of a park, sitting down, calm, trying to figure out what to do. It was there the vampire †der Tote stumbled upon her. After a brief chat, the woman realizing she had nothing left to lose, Jackie confessed the murder of her ex-boyfriend to the stranger she had just met.
“If someone could offer you a new life, right now, what would you be willing to lose to get it?” He had asked her, urging her to consider it carefully.
“I have nothing to lose,” was her answer, the last words she spoke before she was taken by the vampire and turned.
After turning
Jaqueline woke up in das Haus after being turned, taught the ways of vampires by her sire der Tote. Like most fledglings, she enjoyed life and celebrated her new fresh start by spending the nights clubbing, moving from one bar to the next until dawn, when she would return to sleep off the intoxication at her sire’s house. After a few months, she moved out into a loft apartment of her own, but would occasionally return to das Hause to sleep and spend time with her sire.
After her fair share of flings and one-night stands, Jaqueline met the vampire †DarkOverLight. The two lovers moved in together. They shared months of happiness, but it was not meant to last. There was more drama around them than Jackie fancied, and Dark’s insecurity, fear of losing her, and even suspecting her of cheating, created friction between them. Fearing she would hurt her lover, Jaqueline moved back into her loft apartment, needing some distance to straighten out her thoughts and feelings for the man.
During this time, she grew closer to †Laurentius, a friend that had recently left his lover. She was there for him, as he was there for her, supporting one another, providing company and comfort. When Jaqueline realized she had some sort of feelings towards Laurentius, and came to understand he shared said feelings, she knew she had to leave Dark before she’d hurt him, the rift having grown wide between them. Because they both had recently left their lovers, and wanting time to get to know one another in private, not draw attention to themselves, Laurentius and Jaqueline would visit one another in secrecy. They fell in love, or maybe they had fallen for one another before they had realized it themselves. After months of pretty much living together, spending the days and nights back and forth between their apartments, they bought a house and moved in together, starting new chapters in both of their lives.
Around the anniversary of Jaqueline’s siring, the young man Dion Kiryu arrived in RavenBlack. The two met in a bar, and as Jaqueline was walking him half way to a local hotel where the newcomer could spend the night, a mugger appeared intending to rob them. Feeling the urge to protect the woman, Dion was lethally wounded trying to protect Jaqueline. To save his life, in a manner of speaking, Jaqueline turned the young man and took him to her home. Thus, she sired her first childe, the vampire †Dionisys.
One night, after nearly a year as lovers, †Laurentius proposed to Jaqueline, asking her to be his bound partner and wife. On the 5th of June, 2011, they were bound at the halls and wed as husband and wife, in the presence of friends that thought it was long overdue.
Personal Life
Jaqueline was sired into a small if not completely dormant bloodline and therefore never felt the urge to grow branches further down the bloodline tree. But in her time in the city, she has gathered around herself ‘pires she holds as dear as family. She has grown almost infamous for her many ‘nieces’, young women she’s taken under her wing.
She often says that she is surrounded by men, and that her life is partially devoted to those men that stand closest to her. The most important and dear to her heart, is of course her mate and husband †Launretius, whom she sees as her better and worse part, her strength and weakness, only equal and trustworthy companion, not to mention the passion of her heart. Among the other men is her sire †der Tote, Jackie staying true to her title ‘the only constant woman in his (der Tote’s) life’. Although her relationship to her first childe †Dionisys is a bit complicated, he remains her little ‘accident’ of whom she has grown fond of and to love like a younger brother.
