Category:Lairs

Are there different types of privately owned buildings? If so, we could put this category under [[Category:Privately Owned Buildings]]. If they are not, and a lair is so to say the same as a POB we should merge them, deciding which is the right name for the catagory (Lair or POB) and categorizing the chosen category under category:location. --Cliff Burton Marco 10:25, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Some of the "lairs" can sell items which is why some are saying they are different that just Liars. --TejasTalk 07:11, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
[[Category:Privately Owned Buildings]] sounds ambigous. It is either identical with [[Category:Lairs]] or a superset including [[Category:Special Shops]]/[[Category:Stationary Shops]]. Perhaps best removed? --deCarnacT·C 00:17, 5 May 2012 (CEST)
I Agree. --Cliff Burton Marco 00:52, 5 May 2012 (CEST)

New subcategory for visitor-friendly lairs

Here is an idea: [[Category:Lairs]] is and can remain the main category for player-funded buildings with maroon signs. There is a subset of lairs that are upgraded (players have paid extra credits) to offer items, drinks, shadowing et cetera to visitors. Let's make a well-named subcategory for them. How about "Public Lairs", "Hospitable Lairs" or perhaps "Open Lairs", with the defining trait that they offer something to the visiting public? --deCarnacT·C 00:17, 5 May 2012 (CEST)

Good idea. I am undecided about the name, though. How about "Offering Lairs"? It's just an addition to your suggestions, not a descicion. I guess there is no RP term for that. At least I do not know. --Cliff Burton Marco 00:52, 5 May 2012 (CEST)
Yes, sometimes a good term for something is the hardest thing to come up with! Throwing in some more suggestions: "Generous Lairs", "Accessible Lairs", "Extended Lairs". --deCarnacT·C 18:18, 5 May 2012 (CEST)
Or "Enhanced Lairs" maybe? --deCarnacT·C 15:35, 6 May 2012 (CEST)
How about "Trading Lairs"? Sounds better than "Offering Lairs". "Open Lairs" and "Public Lairs" aren't bad as well. With "Open Lairs" distracts me a bit, though, as I it makes me think about Open Source. Same with "Public Lairs" and Public Domain. Your opinion? --Cliff Burton Marco 17:16, 7 May 2012 (CEST)
If they all sold something, "Trading Lairs" or "Business Lairs" would fit great. But if I understand The Sepulchre of Shadows correctly, visitors pay nothing: "The Sepulchre of Shadows - a place for battlecloaked vampires who are in torpor to hide (they immediately go into shadows)" [1]. But, how about "Pro bono Lairs"? --deCarnacT·C 17:58, 7 May 2012 (CEST)
I'll go ahead and name it [[Category:Extended Lairs]]. Con: a bit unspecific; pro: refers to the extended functionality which affects an extended group (all visitors). If too horrible, it can be renamed later. --deCarnacT·C 17:02, 26 May 2012 (CEST)
That is a suitable solution. I like it. --Cliff Burton Marco 23:21, 28 May 2012 (CEST)

Lair Stubbing

I think lairs should be exempt from the stub category. It seems to me that the lairs all have pretty complete information, there just doesn't happen to be much to say. --Archangel Talk * Welcome * Support 04:50, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Agree. I stubbed so many to get someone through the same thinking process then me. But maybe, we should use our new ability to ... Vote. --Cliff Burton Marco 19:24, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

  2. Agree, since most Lair descriptions/pages are just location, possible which pire owns it for a link to another page in wiki and the description that is in game. --TejasTalk 07:13, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
  3. Agree, per my comments above. --Archangel Talk * Welcome * Support 20:02, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Screen shots for lairs

I will be replacing all the screenshots I took before a format was set after I do a screen for the ones that have none first. Just wanted you to know Cliff. :)--TejasTalk 00:52, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Ok went through the list and made a list that needs screen shots, dont know how I missed them and needs descriptions. Will be working on that now. :) --TejasTalk 18:56, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
