Secret shop

There is a secret shop on some fixed location (?) that sells special items. Does anyone remember where it is? Lebaoth 17:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Fantastic, I was only nine moves away from it. :D Thanks for the info, I'm off to do some edits. Lebaoth 16:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Help?

Does anyone have a list of Pawn Shop prices for things? -- Virgo shelly 06:03, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

It is shown on the Items page. Though prices should be listed on their according shop categories. --Cliff Burton Marco 05:28, 2 June 2011 (CEST)

New picture for pawn shop

It should show how it looks if something can be sold. I removed the old one for the lack on this matter. --Cliff Burton Marco 05:25, 2 June 2011 (CEST)

Sub categories

Someone wants (trying psychology) to create and add the shops into their categories. Fangs. --Cliff Burton Marco 05:28, 2 June 2011 (CEST)

Long article

After listing shops as well as item lists for the various types of shops, this article became rather long. Perhaps it can be shortened if the item-lists (potions, scrolls, gifts, specials) were moved to their respective article. Will do this later. --deCarnac 12:14, 20 March 2012 (CET)

Done. --deCarnac 15:55, 20 March 2012 (CET)
I noticed your deeds, and I am impressed. I am starting to get a little bit frightened though, as it is like you are inside my brain. --Cliff Burton Marco 15:58, 20 March 2012 (CET)

Currently experimenting with tables in an attempt to clarify the many types of shops. I aim at eventually removing the lists of individual shops from this article, once all subcategories are crystal clear. --deCarnac 13:41, 6 April 2012 (CEST)

Shop/Special Shop/Lair definitions

One principal question: Should [[Category:Shops]] and [[Category:Lairs]] be mutually exclusive? The answer will determine how Shop can be defined:

  • If exclusive, Shop can be defined as a building with a greyish blue sign. However, that will make [[Category:Special Shops]] span across both Shops and Lairs.
  • Alternatively, Shop can be a building that sell items (or buy them). Then [[Category:Special Shops]] becomes a subset of Shops. Some of them will also be Lairs, creating a Shop/Lair overlap.
  • A third option is to lift out [[Category:Special Shops]] from Shops just to avoid the problem, but that seems anti-intuitive.

I think either way works, but picking one clear definition is good for consistency as more lairs offer items for sale. --deCarnac 13:41, 6 April 2012 (CEST)

Shop/Lair separating solution

Another way: Separating [[Category:Shops]] and [[Category:Lairs]] as per what color their signs are (for clear and easy demarkation):

I prefer that solution. Good I couldn't respond until after you came up with that one :) If you need help changing/replacing the to be re-categorized pages, let me know. There is an wiki extension for that. --Cliff Burton Marco 00:45, 5 May 2012 (CEST)
Good, I'll get on it then :-) About extensions, what do you think about those category trees that one can browse in? I know they require extensions and will add complexity (a potential source of errors that you must fix), so only you can decide if it's worth it. --deCarnac 01:02, 5 May 2012 (CEST)
About the actual separation, I'll wait until we've got a good term for "Public Lairs" (see Category talk:Lairs) before I take [[Category:Special Shops]] apart. That way I can tidy up any pages where they are mentioned all at once. --deCarnac 18:38, 5 May 2012 (CEST)

Tree Extension

Pick one or show me an example you have in mind will help me decide. --Cliff Burton Marco 01:17, 5 May 2012 (CEST)

This one perhaps: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CategoryTree. Is it worth it? Pro: more powerful navigation. Con: more complex navigation. --deCarnac 01:34, 5 May 2012 (CEST)
