The Echani are independent of the Jyhad between the major clans. They involve themselves only when they are provoked (this can be easily done by looking at them the ‘wrong’ way). Shrouded in darkness, one only sees an Echani when they want to be seen. It is of little surprise that you may not of heard of them before, they keep their activities in the background. They are whispers among their kind, even the main clans are uncertain of their existence.
There is much speculation into the origins of the Echani, for even with as brilliant and high minded as they are, they spend little time documenting their own feats. Most agree that they were spawned by one of the elders of the Malkavian Clan yet influences of the Lasombra and Tremere are evident in their taste for high fashion, stylish expensive shoes, and political influence.
Echani like to play with the canite as though they were pawns in a huge game of chess. Starting wars and uprisings are child’s play for these vampires. Remember the Spanish Inquisition? Yes they have been in the background of many a political upheaval and even the fall of the Roman Empire was their doing.
In the clan there is no rank or order of importance, there is respect. All can present their ideas freely and each decision made is by the whole group. Though they may seem to act independently of one another, they are always aware of one another’s emotional state and activities through their mental connectivity. If one were injured, all Echani in the vicinity would know and be at their side to exact revenge on any who would dare mess with their brethren.
Passionate in all their endevours, they can be merciless in their vengeance. In their lust for blood, they may seduce their victims into their arms or outright snap their necks depending on their mood. Killers, lovers, masters of conquest, one would think that the Echani would rule over all they survey. Yet it is their passions that sometime blind them and becomes their own downfall.
Their genius is tempered by insanity and they loose sight of their objective in the heat of the moment. Voices of their masters may echo in their minds, sometimes guiding, sometimes confusing but always whispering. To an outsider, they are often written off too easily as eccentric, bizarre, or crazy. It is then that they find victory, even if it is only in their own mind.
"Hey you, yeah you. If you want a fight, I'll give it to you. Yeah you wanna start something or was that me that wanted to. No matter, I'll take you down anyway... or will I..."
Nickname: The Wicked.
Appearance: Beauty and style are the only similarities from one Echani to the next. They can be found in any race or background.
Haven: Though they have separate apartments or houses throughout the city, they prefer to share their bed with one another.
Background: Only those of beauty, genius, mortals who demonstrate a lust for power are embraced. Most are skilled in the arts of war and court. They often pick those already possessing political or financial influence. They look for the brightest and most cunning of kine to strengthen the clan.
