Getting Started

I think there should be a "getting started" link on the Navigation bar, which leads to a page that contains links to example pages and page templates for things like character pages and clan pages. (Plus instructions on how to do common tasks) I know when I first came here I was a little lost.--Archangel Talk * Welcome * Support 19:52, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

yes, I know there's a :getting started" section, but I'm saying there should be a link on the navigation bar as well.--Archangel Talk * Welcome * Support 19:56, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I feel like an idiot. I just noticed the "Help" link on the navigation eyes must have skipped over it a hundred times, lol. So please allow me to revise my comment a bit. Is there any way to enhance it or make it more noticable? I also noticed that I was looking for the words "getting Started" and not "Help" (I'm not sure why- just how my brain is wired up, I guess)--Archangel Talk * Welcome * Support 20:04, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Believe me, I am thinking about that alot. UDWiki has it done quite well, but of course... with more users and more time.. and still... their hyve intelligence beats me. --Cliff Burton Marco 20:38, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

"†" and Multiple User Accounts

Today I purged the Spam Accounts. When putting an overview on the Main_Page about the latest created Userpages I found out that some peebs having created an account name with the cross (†) in front of their name (User:†Edan) and one account name without (User:Edan). I don't think this is a good idea, even when redirected to the other account, as it falsifies the Member counter. I think an user account should be created without the "†" in front of the name, and the players character name page (eg. without the "User:" in front) should have it. I don't even mind if there are redirects made between normal pages (e.g. like on cliffburton -> #REDIRECT [[†cliffburton]]. What do you mean? Cliff Burton Marco 22:58, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I decided to fix that as well, those few who were affected and I could find an e-mail address, i sentan e-mail with some explanation. Cliff Burton Marco 00:01, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I am hoping to add some more news-like features, like the Wikipedia sites and putting the actual Mainpage content to another page.--Cliff Burton Marco 17:37, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Spam Prevention

No problems here, but I don't think your spam prevention is doing much good. Unfortunately these spambots keep appearing and creating new accounts... it's mildly annoying. G 14 July 2009

I am on this.. monitioring the situation, learning new methods & trying them out.. Cliff Burton Marco 23:20, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Removed the (already blocked) Spam Accounts today. Shrinked the members counter. Cliff Burton Marco 22:58, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

A minor lay-out issue

A subheader for comparison

Is it just me or do others find that the bold subheaders seem larger than actual headers? The wiki would probably look more neat if the subheaders were smaller and/or non-bold. Lebaoth 19:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Believe me they aren't. One is 150%, the other is 132%. But i removed the "bold" from the smaller. Cliff Burton Marco 17:26, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Articles on RP-only elements

I suggest that articles on RP-only elements should be discouraged and information on them should be restricted to character articles. For example, information about a certain vampire's evil cat should be included in the respective vampire's character article, not in a separate article about the cat itself. The main reasoning here is that the wiki doesn't end up being flooded with hundreds of small articles with tidbits of information which are significant only to one player or a clan at maximum. Do you people agree with this? Lebaoth 23:54, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

See, that is something i didn't intend to just decide alone. For myself i don't RP the game that much, but what if more people actually do instead of don't RP? As i don't know, i let you decide what is needed. Cliff Burton Marco 07:35, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Lebaoth has a good point about "clutter", but it's not like the clutter will get in the way of anything. Personally, I'm more of the standpoint that things be "Inclusive". Personally, I don't want to hear or read about somebody's evil cat, but on the other hand, if i'm on their page and I click the link, I must have been interested on SOME level. So even though I don't really like the idea of having pages for everyone's personal whimsey, I'm inclined to be inclusive because I'd hate to be denied on the one long-shot issue where a friend of mine has an "evil cat" and suddenly I'm in that minority of people who care. What ever my vote is worth, I say keep it even if it's stupid. --Archangel Talk * Welcome * Support 04:34, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
