Nightchilder is a RavenBlack roleplaying community on IRC with a strong collaborative-freeform emphasis.

Currently (late 2009), it's almost exclusively frequented by members of Gehyra or the Splinters of Dusk, though not by design.

Canon

setting: Modern.
time: Loosely sync'ed to real life dates.
RavenBlack City location: Outskirts of London, but this is deliberately almost never mentioned (and has been vio'ed in the past).
vampire traits: Increased strength, immortality but for sunlight.
vampire physiology: Beating heart, working and active lungs, but both redundant in the strictest sense - suspension of either will take considerably longer than in humans to cause the vampire to pass out; would cause a form of catatonia, however, regeneration would heal the vampire eventually if these organs were removed. Vampiric deficiency is primarily in bone marrow, which is dead in them, and of course their extreme sensitivity to light.
warfare: Grid-warfare is considered petty and inconsequential (holy water, garlic spray, et cetera, are seen as unable to induce Torpor in the unwilling). Psychological warfare, meanwhile, is a frequent topic.
characters: In the interest of open-minded playing, there are no hard bans, but vampires significantly older than their grid accounts are frowned upon, as well as special powers or non-vampiric characters. The biggest no-no is having a daywalker player-character.
gamemasters: Primarily Dread, but anyone with operator privileges in the Nightchilder channel (which is given freely per-session).

A Childe Of Splintered Dusk, Dread's original catch-all for the Splinters of Dusk / Immolators Guild plot, having run approximately from 2003-2006.
