Description
Above a pair of tall steel gates, a sign declares this "The Gates of Madness". Many names are legible on the black bars; carved deep into the metal different scripts flow and bend, scarring the aging metal.
Beyond the ironwork lies a conflicting world, split down the center by a simple walking path. The path, cracked concrete, buckled from the strange weather around it, divides two extreme landscapes. To the right, lush plant life grows wild, splashes of color and deep greens vibrant even by moonlight. On the left side of the path lies a barren winter wasteland, the air so cold it can almost be felt creeping out through the gates.
A small metal placard hangs from the top of the arch over the gates, dangling beneath the word Madness. A gentle breeze moves over the sign, swinging it slowly. The sign reads:
