Lineage

Lineage in this manner is defined as descent in a line from a common progenitor; progeny; race; descending line of offspring or ascending line of parentage. Each of us has many lineages that make up who we are. Our two parents represent two lineages. Our four grandparents represent four lineages. Our eight great-grandparents represent eight lineages. The number of lineages increases exponentially with each generation.

Example:

Vampire A sires Vampire B.

Vampire B sires Vampires C and D.

Vampires A through D are in a lineage.

Lineage can also be examplified as a certain species of insect off shooting from a higher species.
